oh where the Craft would take me (UK)

Finding myself more immersed in my Wiccan studies as of late, I've been fascinated in learning about influential places, sites and grounds that hold a connection for Witches alike. Keeping it to the UK, this list is just a couple of the places I've noticed and become somewhat drawn to - A bucket list for my spiritual travels.

1. Stonehenge.
Getting the really obvious one out of the way first: Stonehenge is a famous heritage site and with wiccans, druids, travellers and the like gathering at almost every Sabbat, it's fairly common knowledge as one of the most iconic spiritual grounds in the UK. Built up of towering stones, origins entirely unknown (though many have speculated), the monument is one of the most visit places in the UK for witches to enjoy the solstice celebrations and moon phases. 


2. Glastonbury
With the festival aside, Glastonbury itself is said to be a power source for witches, coated in history and mythology. As I learnt from recently reading Witch: Unleashed. Untamed. Unapologetic, there are plenty of beautiful springs, spiritual sites and shops to be immersed in. 

One place in particular that I'd love to visit is the White Springs - a sanctuary of sorts. Healing springs and wells, set deep in the caves/caverns of Glastonbury. The photos I've seen are absolutely stunning and I can only imagine the atmosphere you'd feel to be there. 

There is also a Craft inspired BnB - The Covenstead, with themed rooms and walls lined with books on magick, mythology and the occult. It sounds like the perfect place to stay when taking a spiritual delve into the town!

3. Cornwall (Tintagel)
Only recently have I visited the magic that is Cornwall and although I felt a natural pull and longing to be there, I didn't quite realise how relevant witchcraft was in the area! Since leaving, I'd been researching other places to visit nearby (we stayed in Newquay) for a return visit and I have stumbled across many enchanting places such as the Witchcraft and Magic Museum, Merlins Cave and St Nectens Glen - a nature walk filled with waterfalls, animals and historical folklore.

4. Lancashire
One of the most fascinating (and important) part of Witch history is learning about the trials. In the UK the famous Pendle trials consisted of 10 people, persecuted and sentenced to death via hanging - in Lancashire! Not only would I be interested in visiting the site itself for that reason (and to see the castle) but there are also plenty of pubs, shops and tours dedicated to the hisory of the Pendle witches.


These are just a couple of the places I've been lusting after recently, I'm sure there are plenty more around the UK that I'm yet to stumble upon. Have you been to any of these, or do you have any places you'd like to visit, spiritual or otherwise? I'd love to hear about them in the comments!
